Each of our homes is guided by a dedicated leadership team, Administrators and Site Leads who oversee daily operations, support staff, and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and resident-centered care. These leaders work closely with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create welcoming, supportive, and vibrant communities. Their commitment ensures each home reflects the values at the heart of High-Crest: compassion, collaboration, and excellence.

Our Directors of Care lead the nursing and care teams at each of our homes. With deep clinical knowledge and a strong commitment to person-centered care, they guide staff, support residents and families, and foster a culture of safety, respect, and collaboration. Their leadership ensures every resident receives high-quality, individualized care every day.

High-Crest Springhill

Conrad LeBlanc (he/him), LL.B, B.A.

Administrator | Lawyer, High-Crest Solutions Inc.

Conrad LeBlanc is the Administrator at High-Crest Springhill, a 76-bed nursing home facility. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, he manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. He collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment. Alongside overseeing high-quality resident care, Conrad provides legal, human resources, and management consulting services across the broader organization.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Moncton and a Bachelor of Arts in History (Pre-Law) from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. With over four decades of professional experience, Conrad has worked extensively in law, human resources, and senior leadership. His background includes legal practice across multiple disciplines, HR consulting within the Nova Scotia health sector, and senior management work with ServiceMaster of Canada, where he led organizational restructuring efforts. His public sector experience includes serving as Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the New Brunswick Bicentennial Commission.

Conrad has remained an active member of both the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (since 1996) and the New Brunswick Barristers’ Society (since 1984). He currently serves as Chair, President, and CEO of the Pointe du Chêne Harbour Authority, a role he has held since 2012. He also holds certificates in Occupational Health & Safety and Emergency Measures and Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Outside of work, Conrad enjoys maritime life and contributing to his community through local infrastructure and heritage initiatives.

Lisa Sangster (she/her), MN(c), RN

Site Lead, High-Crest Springhill

Lisa Sangster is the Site Lead at High-Crest Springhill, a 76-bed Nursing Home, where she is responsible for overall leadership, operations, and quality of care. She works closely with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to foster a safe, welcoming, and person-centered environment. Lisa is passionate about building strong teams and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care.

With over 30 years of progressive nursing experience in both acute care and long-term care settings across Canada and the U.S., Lisa brings deep clinical knowledge and leadership expertise to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Athabasca University) and is currently completing her Master of Nursing at Athabasca University. She also earned her Diploma of Nursing from the Aberdeen School of Nursing.

Lisa has served on leadership teams for Quality & Safety, Ethics, and Professional Practice Committees in acute care environments, and has led initiatives in staff education, leadership development, and trauma-informed practice. She is currently involved in leadership integration and quality improvement initiatives at High-Crest Springhill and is certified in Psychologically Safe Leadership.

Outside of work, Lisa is an avid quilter and enjoys teaching others this craft.

Tabathia Rushton (she/her), RN

Director of Care, High-Crest Springhill

Tabathia Rushton is the Director of Care at High-Crest Springhill, a 76-bed nursing home. She is responsible for leading the nursing and care team. She oversees the delivery of resident-centered care, supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Tabathia brings over 33 years of experience to her role. She champions resident-centered care through dignity, respect, equality, and evidence-based practices as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team.

A graduate of Yarmouth Regional Hospital School of Nursing (Class of 1992), Tabathia was honored with the Excellence in Geriatrics Award. She has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University). She is actively involved in the Corporate Director of Care group and the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) network. Within High-Crest, she contributes to critical committees including IPAC, Emergency Measures, STATS, Quality, and Safety.

Passionate about creating a warm and supportive environment, Tabathia enjoys spending quality time with family and friends outside of work.

High-Crest Sherbrooke

Gerry Grant (he/him), BBA

Administrator, High-Crest Sherbrooke

Gerry Grant is the Administrator at High-Crest Sherbrooke, a 39-bed nursing home. With over 20-years of experience, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, he manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. He collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.

Gerry focuses on strong team leadership, and strategic planning to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

Gerry holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University and has a diverse background spanning health care, business, and community economic development across Nova Scotia and Canada’s North. He has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Outside of work, Gerry enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in outdoor activities.

June Daviau (she/her), BScN, RN, MAdEd, CCNE

Director of Care, High-Crest Sherbrooke

June is the Director of Care at High-Crest Sherbrooke, a 39-bed nursing home. She is responsible for leading the nursing and care team. She oversees the delivery of resident-centered care, supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

June provides leadership and direction to nursing and care staff, maintaining relationships with residents, families, physicians/healthcare professionals, scheduling of nursing and care staff, hiring and interviewing of nursing and care staff, nursing materials/supplies management and chairing all committees associated with resident care. June collaborates with all departments and the administrator to foster the safe, smooth running of our facility.

June works diligently to promote and foster continuous learning and improvement through ongoing organization developed education that builds capacity in identifying and addressing risks and hazards and makes our environment , residents and staff safe.

June has completed an undergraduate degree in nursing (BScN) with advanced major in infection control, a masters degree in Adult education (MAdEd) where she focused on and published her work in the theory/practice gap in Nursing. June is a Canadian Certified Nurse Educator (CCNE). June also completed initial studies in post doctoral (PhD) work in educational studies. June is currently pursuing studies in the Long-Term Care Executive Leadership program with a completion date of summer 2026. She also holds a certificate in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

June chairs several key committees, including Medication Management, Multidisciplinary/Pharmacy, IPAC, Ethics, Nursing Staff, CCA Staff, Statistics, Wound Care/Resident Care, and Pharmacy. She also serves as a committee member with the Directors of Care group.

June enjoys baking and her Yorkshire Terrier trifecta.

High-Crest Place

Alan Caldwell (he/him), Dip.Rec., Cert. LTC Admin

Administrator, High-Crest Place

Alan Caldwell is the Administrator at High-Crest Place, a 27-bed residential care facility. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, he manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. He collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.
He is dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment for both residents and employees.

Alan’s career began in Therapeutic Recreation, serving 16 years as Recreation Director before advancing his education in Long-Term Care Administration and becoming Administrator at High-Crest Place. He has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

He has served on the Provincial Board of the Nova Scotia Therapeutic Recreation Association, including a term as President, and has received the Leadership Award from NSRPH for his commitment to therapeutic recreation. Alan also volunteers with local organizations such as the Alzheimer Society and Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Outside of work, Alan enjoys travelling with family and friends and is a passionate supporter of his children’s extracurricular activities.

Michelle Henshaw (she/her), LPN

Director of Care, High-Crest Place & High-Crest New Glasgow

Michelle Henshaw is the Director of Care of both High-Crest Place (a 27-bed residential care facility) & High-Crest New Glasgow (a 29-bed residential care facility). She is responsible for leading the nursing and care team at both sites. She oversees the delivery of resident-centered care, supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Michelle supports residents, families, and staff with compassion and professionalism. She brings over 23 years of diverse nursing experience across long-term care, community health, palliative care, acute care, maternity, and correctional settings.

Michelle holds a Practical Nursing Diploma from Bow Valley College in Calgary, AB. She also holds a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active at the gym and spending time with her two beloved daughters, Megan & Grace, and her two corgis.

High-Crest New Glasgow

She oversees the delivery of resident-centered care, supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Michelle supports residents, families, and staff with compassion and professionalism. She brings over 23 years of diverse nursing experience across long-term care, community health, palliative care, acute care, maternity, and correctional settings.

Robert MacDonald (he/him), BBA

Administrator, High-Crest Home New Glasgow

Robert MacDonald is the Administrator at High-Crest New Glasgow, a 29-bed residential care facility. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, he manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. He collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) with a focus on Marketing and Management from St. Francis Xavier University and earned his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 1994. Prior to his current role, Robert gained marketing experience with major oil companies and briefly worked in insurance sales. He has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Committed to community involvement, Robert has volunteered as a board member and coach in Antigonish Minor Hockey and Soccer, supported health-related campaigns, and held leadership roles with the Antigonish Highland Society. He also contributes actively to multiple internal committees at High-Crest.

Robert has been recognized with the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and other awards for his volunteer work. He and his wife Carolyn have been married for 34 years and have four children. Outside of work, Robert enjoys golfing.

Highland-Crest Home

Mary Beaver (she/her)

Administrator, Highland-Crest Home

Mary Beaver is the Administrator at Highland-Crest Home, a 35-bed residential care facility. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, she manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. She collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.

In her role, Mary leads with a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and resident-centered care, supporting both staff and residents in a team-based environment that fosters independence and quality of life.

Mary began her career with High-Crest Enterprises in 1981 as a PCW. She later became Assistant to the Administrator before stepping into the Administrator role, which she has held for over 25 years.

Mary represents the Eastern Region on the Continuing Care Association of Nova Scotia (CCANS) and recently Co-Chaired its annual conference. She also volunteers as a Board Member with the Celtic Community Housing Board of Directors and chairs the Ethics, Quality Management, and Emergency Measures Committees at Highland Crest. She has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren and cherishes time in Cape Breton with extended family.

Collette Stewart (she/her), LPN

Director of Care, Highland-Crest Home

Colette Stewart is the Director of Care at Highland-Crest Home, a 35-bed residential care facility. She is responsible for leading the nursing and care team. She oversees the delivery of resident-centered care, supports staff development, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Collette ensures that nursing staff deliver high-quality care by promoting best practices that prioritize residents’ preferences, needs, and safety.

Collette began her healthcare career in 2008 after earning her Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) certificate. She worked in the healthcare system for eight years before returning to school, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma from NSCC Pictou in 2016. She continued her clinical work at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital (SMRH) in the Progressive Care Unit until 2017, when she joined Highland Crest as an LPN and DOC Assistant. In 2022, she was promoted to Acting Director of Care, and in 2024, she assumed the full-time DOC role.

Collette actively contributes to the DOC Committee, Medication Management Committee, and Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Committee. She also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).

Outside of work, Collette finds joy in spending quality time with her grandchildren.

My Cape Breton Home for Seniors

Bonita Rosetti (she/her), LPN

Administrator, My Cape Breton Home for Seniors

Bonita Rosetti is the Administrator at My Cape Breton home for seniors, (includes two residential care facilities). She oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, she manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. She collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.

With a solid foundation in healthcare, Bonita began her career as a Registered Practical Nurse after graduating from Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. She also holds a certificate in Leadership (Dalhousie University). She has built a diverse portfolio of experience across long-term care, hospital, community, and private sector settings. In 2020, she joined My Cape Breton Home for Seniors as a Client Service Coordinator, where her dedication to resident-centered care deepened. Now serving as an Administrator, she oversees facility operations, fosters a supportive and adaptable workplace, and champions ongoing education to ensure high standards of care.

Outside of work, Bonita finds joy in spending time with family and friends, both human and animal. Whether caring for her beloved dog, Mona, or tending to her flock of nine chickens, she embraces the simple pleasures of home and nature. She also enjoys crafting, using creativity as a meaningful and relaxing outlet.
