Administrator, High-Crest Home New Glasgow
Robert MacDonald is the Administrator at High-Crest New Glasgow, a 29-bed residential care facility. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the home. In this role, he manages site staffing, finances, and compliance with licensing, and regulatory standards. He collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure a safe, high-quality, and resident-centered living environment.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) with a focus on Marketing and Management from St. Francis Xavier University and earned his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 1994. Prior to his current role, Robert gained marketing experience with major oil companies and briefly worked in insurance sales. He has also completed a certification in Leadership (Dalhousie University).
Committed to community involvement, Robert has volunteered as a board member and coach in Antigonish Minor Hockey and Soccer, supported health-related campaigns, and held leadership roles with the Antigonish Highland Society. He also contributes actively to multiple internal committees at High-Crest.
Robert has been recognized with the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and other awards for his volunteer work. He and his wife Carolyn have been married for 34 years and have four children. Outside of work, Robert enjoys golfing.
